Eventually, a courageous tenant filed a class action lawsuit against that landlord, resulting in a settlement that refunded thousands of tenants security deposits, including Matthew’s security deposit and cleared his credit score. This experience motivated Matthew to focus on class action litigation, particularly cases involving security deposits. Today, Matthew is dedicated to helping tenants across Florida fight back against unfair practices and achieve justice. While his legal practice spans various types of class actions, Matthew is especially passionate about advocating for tenants and leveling the playing field in landlord-tenant disputes.
